The Ibanez RG550 Genesis Collection in Purple Neon is a Japan-made recreation of the iconic RG550 from 1987, featuring a lightweight basswood body with sharp double-cutaway contours and a super-thin Super Wizard neck profile crafted from five-piece maple and walnut. Known for its standout finish, the Purple Neon paint shows a dynamic shift in hue under different lighting—ranging from deep eggplant indoors to bright violet or blue in direct light—making each instrument visually striking and unique.

Tonal flexibility is driven by an H‑S‑H pickup configuration: a V7 humbucker in the neck, a single‑coil S1 in the middle, and a V8 humbucker at the bridge—each wired via a five-way switch with master volume and tone controls.
